Obviously I have been in a pizza mood: Butternut Squash Pizza, Paleo Pizza with Mushrooms and Chicken, and now Sopressata Pizza!
This was a good one, for sure. It’s got a little kick with some hot peppers and hot sopressata. I love hot and spicy, so this was right up my alley.
Ingredients
1 pizza crust (again, try Primal Cravings for a fantatic paleo pizza crust!!)
1-2 tbsp hot pepper spread
marinara sauce to taste
1/4 pound hot sopressata, sliced
shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions
While the pizza crust is baking, get the hot pepper spread ready. You could either purchase it from the store, or do what I did: mix 1 finely chopped jalapeno pepper, 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, a dash of salt, and 1 tablespoon olive oil together. Spread on the cooked pizza crust. Then, spread marinara sauce to taste on top, to taste. Layer the sopressata in a circular pattern, covering the whole pizza crust. Finally, sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top. Put the pizza back in the over for about 8 minutes and then under the broiler for another 2 minutes.
Serve with a side salad, drizzled with a simple dressing of balsamic vinegar and olive oil, and enjoy!
